To be naked is to truly be at one

This piece is a favourite of mine and one which is getting a lot of attention. My process in making this was one of addition and extraction. Layers of purple and blue hues were added to the canvas and then left for a while for the colours to sink in a bit. All excess paint is scraped back in sections. The process is repeated a few times until all tangible paint is removed.

What remains is natural. The blue hues that have connected to the canvas reveal themselves as light through the relaxing purple. Neither colour takes precadent as each has its own meaning within the piece.

This contemporary abstract symbolises the beauty in vulnerability. Slowly revealing the true parts of yourself brings a deep connection to oneself and to others.
